Radioactive Sours – DDV6

Tracy knows that I love sour candies, so she brought me some back from her last trip to England.  I loved them!  I decided to bring some in to work so the guys that I work with could try them out and so I could capture their expressions for you all.  All in all, only one person didn’t like them, which I was impressed.

One of Dom’s friends joins him on the show the today.  He first met her when they both worked at a language school together, though they don’t talk much about that in this episode.  Her name is Sophia, and she is on the show to talk about her singing and her music.

She started singing when she was young, and was in a competition for singing when she was in high school/seconday school.  She even once sang for the mayor of Bangkok.  She also talks a little about what it’s like getting singing jobs here in Bangkok.

Living In Chiang Mai – DD3

Play

Visiting Chiang Mai

Before Tracy and Dom moved to Chiang Mai, they went up there to have a look around first.  They rented a bike and got to know the city a bit and looked at places to rent.

First place was dangerous for Dom, as he would have smashed his head going up and down the stairs.  The second place was too massive and too far out for both Tracy and Dom to live.  Third place was perfect, had a small yard with a parking area, also, Tracy and Dom bring their two (2) cats, Roso & Lily with them to Chiang Mai, which the landlady says is fine.  Dom also explains a half bath, three quarters bath and a full bath for those that don’t know.

Moving To Chiang Mai

PhantomWaveOnce Tracy and Dom move to Chiang Mai, the first thing they need to do is get motorcycles.  Dom gets a Honda Phantom 200cc and Tracy gets a Honda Wave 110cc.  Dom talks about what it was like to try find a job by emailing language schools, but they don’t respond to him.  Tracy and Dom adopt their dog Spike.

Dom finds work at a few places in Chiang Mai before finally being hired by Tracy to work for the British Council in Chiang Mai.  Overall it was a good place for him to work, and was a great learning experience for him.

Motorcycle Trips

domphantomDom talks a little bit about their motorcycle trips.  They did two (2) trips around Northern Thailand.  For the first trip, they went from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai to Chiang Saen to Thaton to Chiang Dao finally back to Chiang Mai.  The second trip went from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai to Chiang Saen with a day trip to Chiang Khong, from Chiang Saen to Mae Sai to Thaton to Chaing Dao for lunch then back on the road to Chiang Mai.  Dom also talked a little bit about their motorcycle trip to Lhamphun and their motorcycle trip to Pai, and he talks about their time in Pai.

Friends

dombeardDom finishes his show talking about some of the great friends they had while they were in Chiang Mai.
